Gordon JCC, Jewish Federation of Nashville and Dury’s Announce Photo Contest winners
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the state of Israel, Federation, the GJCC and Dury’s sponsored a photography contest open to all amateur and professional photographers, ages 16 years and up. Contest judges-noted local photographers Martin O’Connor and Michael Moryc-have just announced the grand prize winner: Hannah Elaine, age 24, of Nashville, TN. (View her winning photo below)
Participants were invited to submit original photographs of Israel in one of five categories: People, Landscape, Spiritual, Architecture or Technology. The winners in each of these categories were, respectively, Yaara Yemin, Nicole Roberts, Tommy Waller, Michael Jones and Mickey Metzman. The winning photos, along with 19 other submissions, will be exhibited in the Janet Levine March gallery from April 15 through the month of May. A reception for the photographers will be held Thursday April 17 at 7 p.m. at the GJCC. The Janet Levine March gallery is located at 801 Percy Warner Blvd. in Nashville. Gallery hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Gallery will be closed Sun-Mon April 20-21 and Sat-Sun April 26-27.
