Tennessee Lawyers for the Arts to Host Free Workshop on 990 Form
To help arts organizations who might need assistance with the filing, Tennessee Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts is hosting a free workshop on April 28th, 2008 from 12:00-4:00p.m.
For the 2007 tax year, the IRS is now requiring tax exempt organizations with under $25,000 in gross receipts to file a report with the IRS called the 990-N. The 990-N is simple and can be filed online in minutes. However, failure to file a 990-N (or other 990) for three consecutive years will result in your tax exempt status being revoked. Your 990-N is due 4½ months after the close of the organization’s fiscal year (e.g. May 15th if your organization is on a calendar year). At the workshop, we can help you file your 990-N on the spot!
To attend, you must make an appointment by emailing info@tnvla.org or calling 615-312-7224.
